ACCESSIBILITY
We’re the escape room you can visit without worrying about having to watch your friends play from the sidelines. We’ve done our best to describe below the different ways we can make the game accessible to different people, but we may not have thought of everything. So feel free to get in touch and tell us what you need! You can reach us via chat, email, or by calling Heidi. We can also make a booking for you.
For the visually impaired
Throughout our games, you’ll have an actor with you who can guide you around the city, read things aloud, and describe what they see. Hints can also be provided in braille or large print if you let us know in advance. Voice Over can also be enabled on the iPhone used in the game. We also take care of any guide dogs during the rope descent. You’re welcome to bring your own assistant along for free.
For wheelchair users
Classic Meilahti is accessible in terms of its facilities: the main entrance has very low thresholds, there’s an accessible toilet on the first floor, and all floors can be reached by a large elevator. Some games involve crawling or being in tight spaces, but we can plan routes and movement in other ways if we know your needs in advance.
Premium games may involve things like moving on escalators and a tram or bus ride from Kamppi to Meilahti.
Rope rappelling doesn’t require strength, but we need more information about your mobility in advance to ensure the harness is suitable.
We’re happy to work together to figure out how to make sure you can participate in everything just like everyone else.
Classic Kamppi is unfortunately not fully accessible, as one of the spaces can only be reached by steep and narrow stairs.
For the hearing impaired
Our games don’t have intentionally loud sounds, but some spaces are echoey, which can make it harder to understand what the actors and other players are saying. If you let us know about your situation in advance, we can plan the route to avoid such spaces and our actors will know to position themselves so their faces are especially visible to you. We can also make sure you can use a separate speaker on the phone and we can provide text versions of audio hints.
For the deaf
You can bring a sign language interpreter with you or ask us to arrange one for the duration of the game. Audio hints will be provided as text.
Game content
Loud sounds
The Rich and the Criminal game has one fairly loud sound that comes from a different room. It can also be left out if you let us know in advance.
Lighting
The game doesn’t have flashing lights. Some spaces are dimly lit.
Scents
We use scents and occasionally a smoke machine in the Stolen Boss and the Rich and the Criminal games, so if we know in advance that you don’t want strong scents near you, we can guide you away at the right moment.
Allergies
In the Trapped by the Beast contains apple, the Stolen Christmas contains almond, and the Stolen Bride contains flowers. Not everyone in the group needs to touch them, and they’re not meant to be eaten.
Dogs also move around the common areas on Tukholmankatu, so those with allergies should bring allergy medication if needed.
Distressing themes
Some of our game themes may cause distress. The games feature acted violence and threats of violence, murders, and realistic-looking weapons. You can use the safe word ‘garage’ at any time during the game and we’ll remove you from the situation.
