Recreation Days, Team Days and Wellbeing Days in Helsinki
Recreation day activities in Helsinki – escape the meeting marathon and rescue the boss
Lead your team into the corporate escape room The Snatched Boss in either the shadowy alleys of Kamppi or the abandoned hospital in Meilahti.
The mystery of a boss who vanishes mid-recreation day brings your team thrills, letting loose, teamwork and laughter.
Live actors taking part in the game electrify the atmosphere, and in Meilahti your recreation day adventure can climax with a rope descent from a balcony.
If your day falls in December, the same games also work for office Christmas parties (the Finnish “pikkujoulu”) in Helsinki – even for a group of a hundred.
Practical info about recreation days in Helsinki
Where in Helsinki is the recreation day held?
We’re located in both Kamppi and Meilahti in Helsinki, and you can book the one-hour Classic escape room for your team at either location. In the Premium game you experience both locations in two hours, and anyone who fancies it can descend from a balcony by rope at the end. Classic+, i.e. the one-hour escape game plus a rope descent, is only available in Meilahti. If you like, you can also book us to come to your office.
In Kamppi, the game starts at John Scott’s Arkadia, Salomonkatu 1. Classic Kamppi takes you through nearby streets and buildings, while Premium games end up at Tukholmankatu in Meilahti. In-game travel is included in the price.
Classic Meilahti and Classic+ take place in the old hospital in Meilahti at Tukholmankatu 10.
From Kamppi it’s about 15 minutes by public transport. There’s plenty of parking nearby, for example on Valpurintie, and tram 4 and buses 20 and 30 stop about 200 metres from the front door.
At Tukholmankatu, it’s best to arrive a few minutes before your booking starts, whereas at Salomonkatu there’s also a good chance to raise a glass to the company’s successes before the game. The front door at Tukholmankatu is usually locked, so give Heidi a call if needed and we’ll let you in. The game begins as soon as the actors come to meet you.
How long does the team day programme last?
The business-themed escape room comes in three lengths. In Classic you spend an hour adventuring through the streets and buildings of Kamppi or the abandoned hospital in Meilahti. Classic+ takes place in Meilahti and lasts 1.5 hours, including a rope descent.
In Premium you get two hours of nail-biting moments in both Kamppi and the hospital’s labyrinthine corridors, and the game ends with an escape by rope.
If you’re booking a restaurant or other activities for your team after the game, add 30 minutes to your travel time so everyone who wants to can descend by rope at their leisure and we have time for a quick chat about the game’s twists.
What kind of team is it suited to?
Unlike traditional escape rooms, our games aren’t just about problem-solving and puzzles: during the game you get to know your teammates better, rifle through a pharmaceutical company’s trade secrets with permission, or take on a role in a rescue mission. The games require no physical fitness, and not everyone has to do everything. This game also suits teams where not everyone knows each other very well yet.
We’re happy to take participants’ wishes into account and can tailor the game accordingly. The game also has a safe word, ‘autotalli’ (garage), which you can use if you want out of a situation.
If your group has some daredevils, the game can also include a rope descent from a balcony – voluntary for everyone. Rope descending needs no strength or previous experience at all, and Toni, who has even trained rope descending in the army, makes sure every descender can enjoy the experience safely.
How big a team can a recreation day handle?
We can run The Snatched Boss simultaneously for teams of more than 20 people, too. In that case, though, we recommend playing in smaller groups. If you’d like to come and play with, say, a 70-person company, we can arrange space and other activities for the groups who aren’t playing at that moment.

Frequently asked questions
Is The Snatched Boss an easy or hard escape room?
This escape room has a many-layered plot, so few teams uncover absolutely everything. You don’t need any previous escape room experience, though, as an actor stays with the team the whole time to make sure you never get stuck.
Can we bring our own food or drinks during the game?
Absolutely. We have a fridge at Tukholmankatu if anything needs keeping cold during the game. You can also have catering delivered if you wish. In Premium games you can also order drinks and snacks from John Scott’s restaurant before the game.
Does the weather affect the recreation day programme?
Classic Meilahti is played entirely indoors, while in Classic Kamppi you’re outside for a few minutes at a time. Premium games involve short walks outdoors, but most of the game is spent inside.
Any rope descents are done outdoors, but you can head straight back inside after your turn if you like. We run games all year round, and rope descending is possible in winter too.
In which languages can the programme be booked?
We can run the game in Finnish and English.
Can the escape room come to our office or summer outing?
Of course! We’ve taken the escape room to restaurants, a hotel, a manor house and an educational institution, among others. We operate in the Helsinki metropolitan area and further afield if needed. Give Heidi a call and let’s talk details!
What else can be combined with a team day?
An escape room reveals a huge amount about how a team works. If you’d like to know what the decisions and solutions made during the game say about your team, you can add team profiling. The profiling is led by Toni Hinkka, who has over 20 years’ experience coaching teams, from customer service all the way to management teams.
Do we need to think about what to wear?
We recommend comfortable clothes suited to the weather. Choose clothes where a little dirt won’t matter. That said, nothing in the game is deliberately designed to mess up anyone’s clothes.
Tie long hair back for the rope descent. Descending is usually more comfortable in flat shoes and trousers, but it can also be done in a skirt and heels.
Can we leave our belongings somewhere safe during the game?
Yes, your things can be locked away during the game. In the Premium game they can go in a car boot if needed.
Nearest restaurants
In Kamppi, places near where the game ends include Teller and Third place pastabar.
In Meilahti, the nearest restaurant is the Scandic hotel’s restaurant at Tukholmankatu 2, within walking distance. The restaurants in the centre are just a 15-minute tram or bus ride away, and there are lovely spots in Töölö along the way too.
Does the game really kidnap one of our team members?
The fictional pharmaceutical company’s kidnapped boss is played by our actor, so you won’t have to part with any of your own teammates.
